by Athena Qania
In the quiet of the night, secrets unfold,
A tale of a mother’s fate, nearly untold.
Shadows danced, whispers drew near.
Hidden truths, veiled by those who cared,
Shielded from a child’s innocent stare.
But through the whispers of the digital air,
A revelation pierced, a truth so bare.
I stumbled upon the truth,
As Facebook unveiled what others knew,
A facebook from my grandma.
it wrote about my mother’s accident.
I was sad, indeed. but wasn’t sad enough to cry
Though she survived that fateful night,
With strength and will, she won the fight,
A family’s love, a bond so deep,
A secret well that all did keep.
A room meant for her, but now all mine to keep,
a big bed.
I was very happy i had the room for 2 weeks
I was all by myself in the room
sleeping yet neat
Yet amidst the sorrow, a glimmer, a trace,
A temporary solace, a small sacred space.
The shared bedroom,
For two weeks, cherished a child’s dreams.
In those two weeks, as her strength she’d regain,
In my solitude, I’d dance through joy .
love for family is complex, emotions don’t always show,
In the unspoken stories, our hearts often glow.
I was veryly happy when my mom came back rom the hospital.
I mean, who wouldn’t be happy?
After all, mother is Family
And i will now and forever love her
i will never forget the love of a mother
the love i get from my mom
How much she sacrificed for me
